Cheltenham Festival 2017, 14th to 17th March

Cheltenham Festival.jpg

The Cheltenham Festival is an exciting meeting in the National Hunt Racing Calendar, with race prize money second only to the Grand National. It’s an event where many of the best British and Irish-trained horses race to an extent which is relatively rare during the rest of the season.

The festival takes place annually at Cheltenham Racecourse in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. and this year runs from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th March, the meeting culminating in the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup.

If you stay at Victoria House, you are ideally situated for Cheltenham and many pubs in Stow on the Wold are open early, serving breakfast and Guinness (the meeting usually coincides with Saint Patrick’s Day).

Large amounts of money are gambled during Cheltenham Festival week, with hundreds of millions of pounds being bet over the week. Cheltenham is often noted for its atmosphere, most notably the "Cheltenham roar", which refers to the enormous amount of noise that the crowd generates as the starter raises the tape for the first race of the festival.

Seven luxury boutique rooms in Stow

Superior Room

We are delighted to announce the opening of Victoria House, in Stow on the Wold.

Victoria House is a 19th century former brewer's house, that has been converted into seven luxury boutique rooms.

All rooms have every little luxury you'd expect from a luxury hotel – complimentary coffee, tea and mineral water, a welcome decanter of sherry, and even Cotswold Fudge, but we don't serve breakfast. Because we are so conveniently situated in the centre of Stow, there are many places to eat and drink minutes and seconds away.

We look forward to making your stay a pleasurable and comfortable one.
